True, Sarawak still needs Taib, but then again its a one man opinion, and not necessarily the opinion of all Sarawakians. If only there is a fair and truly independent body to conduct a survey now, I wouldn’t dare bet on Taib.
To compare Taib to Lee Kuan Yew is another story, which we shouldn’t be talking about. Sarawak is not Singapore, and if it is in any way like Singapore, then it should have opted out like Singapore did in 1963 from the Federation. As Wahab said in Sarawak Tribune today (June 23, 2010) Sarawak’s hardcore poor poverty has gone down to below 10%, but why was it Taib said that the Bumiputra were, are and still poor, and thats why they depend on BN and continue to support BN. By rights, Sarawakians should be richer from their brethems in Semenanjung, despite being the richest State in Malaysia. Why so? Jawab lah Wahab.
We have been independent since 1963, but the fact is we are still very poor. I still remember when TV 3 made a documentary (Bersama Mu) on Sarawak’s poor a few years back there was a huge outcry from Taib. Even Karam Singh was a persona non-grata due to his reality style reportage. So please YB Wahab, the picture is different now. As you BN fondly says, “Sekarang Rakyat Dah Pandai Menilai. Mereka Tahu Apa Yang Benar Atau Tidak.” If this is the case, then why should BN worry so much about the opposition.
Back to the main issue here, if Taib were to contest in this coming Sarawak General Election in Bukit Assek against Wong Ho Leng, I dare bet that Taib is going to lose – but of course under a really fair and free election.
Oh yes, before I forgot, Dato Seri Wong Soon Koh said SUPP was going to take legal action regarding DAP recent win in Sibu for its Semenanjung style campaign (Borneo Post 23 June). I couldn’t agree more. Why not in this coming Sarawak General Election, we ban all West Malaysian from coming to campaign in Sarawak. No Anwar Ibrahim, no Lim Guan Eng, no Lim Kit Siang nor Kapal Singh. No Najib, no Muhyiddin, no Rais Yatim nor Hishamuddin. How about Shafie Apdal and Datuk Rosnah or Jeffery Kitingan? No UMNO, MIC, MCA, PPP, Gerakan, and also no PAS, DAP, PKR. Let Sarawak BN and Pakatan Rakyat only do the campaign. Lets Make A Deal, Shall We. No Semenanjung BN and no Semenanjung Pakatan. I’m sure many Sarawakians will agree. Like YB Gabriel Adit said in Lubok Antu during the last by-election. “We Don’t Need You People From Semenanjung.” And what happened? BN won. From this logic, I think its a good idea for Sarawak BN to ban all West Malaysian campaigners during this coming State Election. What Say You? A Deal?
