Look like the news below confirm stories that Bakun dam developer can’t find buyers for its electricity-thus the Federal backed developer is pressuring the state government to buy up the electricity which the state government don’t need. The soon to be completed state owned Murum dam will provide enough electricity for all of Sarawak’s power needs.  Can the Sarawak state government say `no’-given that it has good reasons to do so? May be this can be an election issue if the people don’t want to be `sold’ to high electricity costs for their life time! The electricity tarrif issue could be shaping up as an explosive issue for the coming state elections! In any case the report confirms the story about media being sent on all-expenses paid trips to Bakun Dam-but will more PR make up/cover up for the hard/harsh fact of higher electric tarrif?

Meeting Kuching JPN chief: Registering interior residents is only a `kerja iksan’(`compassionate work’)

3 of us: Nicholas Mujah of SADIA, Nick Klessau of Penans Support Group and myself, from Malaysian Election Observers Network, met JPN Chief Mr Abu Bakar, on Friday (Aug 6th), at the Kuching JPN office, from 10.00am-12.00noon. It was an appointment which we sought for close to a year, after we had met those below and above him- so we tried our best to get information from the chief.

Bakun Dam is going to be another white elephant

The whole 15 Billion Ringgit Bakun dam project (Supposed to produce 2400 M w) was conceived by corrupt Mahathir to steal the 10 Billion ringgit worth of Timber from the Chief Minister of Sarawak Taib Mahmud who “owns” all the Timber in Sarawak.
