The blockade started 4 days now(Aug 8th) and attracting support from more and more residents along the great length of the pipeline. Will it really stop so soon as claimed /postulated by the politicians? Have they consulted the affected residents before they started the pipeline project?

Bakun ready to generate its first electricity

August 11, 2010, Wednesday(Borneo Post)

BAKUN:  Bakun Dam’s turbine-8 will be the first of the eight turbines to generate the dam’s first electricity.

Project developer, Sarawak Hidro Sdn Bhd managing director, Zulkifle Osman said turbine-8 located at the Bakun power house is expected to generate electrical power of 300 megawatt somewhere in July, 2011 if the impounding or flooding permit is issued by the Sarawak government by this month.
