EC deny gerrymandering-but could it still be done?

The EC for the most part deny all criticisms against its conduct-however the overwhelming proves and evidences cannot be swept away just by a few denials. Here the EC deny its gerrymandering records. There had been so many such examples of boundaries fixing to facilitate partisan interests that it is a shame that they refuse to acknowledge their presence and account for their conduct:

Opposition’s presence in interior still intangible

Even though Sarawak has been seen as a potential change-leading state in Malaysia the effort invested in this vast state by the PR coalition seems incomparable. So a situation may arise where the briming discontent against the ruling parties may still not enough to affect change.

Long Lawen-a model of self-determination

After Bakun Dam’s construction became a reality the original residents made 3 choices: resettled in Sg Asap to face problems of making a living within a 3-acre land given by the government, stay on in the location-but move to higher grounds, or moved to another place of their own choice. Many Long Lawen villagers made the last choice:

Failed resettlement may be repeated 12 more times!

The massive resettlement of 10 000 people from Ulu Bakun has been seen as a failure by residents and more and more non-residents as well. Without rectifying the grave mistakes there are 12 more big dams to be built in Sarawak-with at least 2 already started at various level…
