The EC for the most part deny all criticisms against its conduct-however the overwhelming proves and evidences cannot be swept away just by a few denials. Here the EC deny its gerrymandering records. There had been so many such examples of boundaries fixing to facilitate partisan interests that it is a shame that they refuse to acknowledge their presence and account for their conduct:

Even though Sarawak has been seen as a potential change-leading state in Malaysia the effort invested in this vast state by the PR coalition seems incomparable. So a situation may arise where the briming discontent against the ruling parties may still not enough to affect change.

After Bakun Dam’s construction became a reality the original residents made 3 choices: resettled in Sg Asap to face problems of making a living within a 3-acre land given by the government, stay on in the location-but move to higher grounds, or moved to another place of their own choice. Many Long Lawen villagers made the last choice:

Bengo Telang, a farmer resettled to Sg Asap to make way for the giantic Bakun Dam, is among the 10 000 residents here who are unhappy about the unkept promises made to them to persuade them to give up their ancestral homes. The massive resettlement of 10 000 people from Ulu Bakun has been seen as a failure by residents and more and more non-residents as well. Without rectifying the grave mistakes there are 12 more big dams to be built in Sarawak-with at least 2 already started at various level…
