EC says no to Mafrel to observe Sarawak polls
The Election Commission (EC) has decided not to give accreditation to Mafrel (Malaysians for Free and Fair Elections) to be an independent observer in the Sarawak state election, polling of which is on April 16.
EC secretary Datuk Kamaruddin Mohamed Baria said this was because Mafrel had failed to fully comply to EC’s requirements.
“Among them is for Mafrel and its affiliates to be non-partisan in their work,” he said in a statement.
He said it was EC’s aim to work together with independent election observers which had credibility, integrity and able to control the affiliates.
Kamaruddin said the EC made the decision at a special meeting on Thursday after studying in detail Mafrel’s application to be an independent observer of the Sarawak election.
Mafrel was set up in Oct 2003 to monitor elections in the country.

I have been observing the EC for many years & I have written to the Chairman/Secretary. But no reply
1. Unfair and inequitable delineation of constituencies.
In 1994, Mahathir orchestrated the evil plan leading to defection of 21 frogs led by Lajim Okin, Bernard Dompok, Jeffrey etc
In 1999, Election Commission re-delineated constituencies to increase Muslim seats from 18 to 24 seats; reduce Christian majority seats from 18 to 12 and reduce Chinese majority seats from 7 to 4. (STAR)
As a result N1 got 7650 voters and N13 got 25976.
This a form of CHEATING.
This is discrimination against other religions, race & basic human rights.
Mahathir app instructed the Election Commission to do this UNFAIR exercise after he promised revenge when Pairin supported Razaleigh and Semangat 46.
2. Buying Votes with money and articles.
This is well known but EC does NOT seem to know !!!
3. There must be limitation in expenditure.
4. Politicians on both sides must have access to media esp TV because people want to listen to both sides before deciding. The TV belongs to the Nation.
4. EC should be made up of Judges, Empires & Referees etc who know FAIRNESS & JUSTICE.
5. EC cannot say it has NOT broken any rule because the Rules & Regulations are NOT Fair in the first place.
People think EC receives instructions from UMNO leaders.
It is remote control.
Apparently top EC members are UMNO or Perkasa members!!!!!
6. Others like postal votes, phantom voters, deceased, Malaysians residing overseas
Conducting free fair and credible elections is very important to the stability of the Nation.
Look at Cote di’voire & Kenya.
ICC today indicts 6 top politicians in Kenya for post election violence including rape murder persecution and deportation.
Politicians will cheat, lie and kill to gain Power & Money.
EC MUST conduct free & fair and credible Election.
Be a good winner and a good loser.
Politicians must be professional & attend & pass exams in SCHOOL of Govt & Ethics before they are allowed to be a candidate.
There must be limitation of tenure for Prime Minister/ Menteri Besar/Chief Minister to 2 terms of 5 years.
Power does NOT make one smarter.
Power makes one more arrogant, more corrupt, more cruel, more intolerant.
So, ALL Sarawakians, please make your wise decision on 16/04/2011, thank you very much. You vote shall make a new born “SARAWAK” with NO more arrogant, NO more corrupt, NO more cruel and NO more intolerant!!!
