Natives of Bakun, including the performers coming for the Malaysia Day event, have to go through such rapids to enter the `modern' world-such trips are not for the faint hearted!

Since the 4 performers are coming from Ulu Bakun originally they had gone through risky rapids like this to come to the `modern’ world and meet West Malaysians. Perhaps West Malaysians should appreciate the opportunity and get to know their fellow Malaysians better and understand the challenges faced by them.The exhibitions on Bakun will start from 3.00pm. The 3 natives from Bakun and 1 from Murum(slightly up river from Bakun) will arrive around 2.00pm and will be available for interviews and meeting from 4.00pm at D’ Space in Penang. There will be a similar meet-the -press session for KL on Sept 16th, at 4.00pm, at Central Market Annex.
