Kuching: DAP announcement of names went on a wrong footing when Kuching Police Chief, Mun Kuok Keong went out to the podium to stop State Assemblyman, a candidate for Sentosa from speaking this evening.
Earlier on, Penang Chief Minister, Lim Guan Eng announced the names of the five candidates in Kuching and each were given a chance to talk.
Chong who was the last person to talk said there were talk that he was too scare to face Datuk Alfred Yap and will be standing in Padungan. He said he is not going to do anything like that despite the fact that there were 3,000 postal votes.
When Chong was talking of not voting a corrupted government, Mun walked up and ordered him to stop. That caused a lot of booing. Chong Siew Chiang then walked over and said give Chieng Jen to say his farewell to the supporters and the people.
As Mun was walking away, there was a lot booing from supporters with one of them calling Mun a derogatory name. Chong then urged the supporters not to boo him as he, Mun is doing his job. He said,”The police are doing their job. They have to listen to CM and PM. This is double standard,.” This cause the people to boo some more.
There was tension when police in plain cloth took pictures of the DAP supporters.
Later Chong told reporters that DAP headquarter is a deserted place with no traffic so why should they be stopped.
He said they will launch the operation centre in Batu Kawa bridge at 10 am. He added the BN is still speaking in Kenyalang Park so why did the police did not stop them.
