MP Sagan boast of Minor Rural Projects of RM30k as BN’s development to the people. But when lands of RM100mil are taken they said this is Opposition `lie’ that the lands had been `taken’. May be he is right on one point-the land was actually robbed!

MARUDI: The Kenyah community in Long Tap, Baram has been advised not to fall for the opposition’s propaganda.
Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry Datuk Jacob Dungau Sagan said the opposition was now trying to mislead the people with baseless accusations of the government taking their land.
“The opposition is very good at talking and misleading the Orang Ulu people in Upper Baram but are doing nothing for them and bringing zero development to the people they are spreading their propaganda to,” he said during a meet the people event at Long Tap on Monday.
He stressed that while the opposition proclaimed themselves to be champions of human rights, it was the Barisan Nasional that brought development to longhouses, from small to major projects, for the people.
“Maintain your strong support for the Barisan Nasional government and the Barisan Nasional candidate in the impending parliamentary election, which could be held any time now,” he said.
Sagan added that since he joined the federal cabinet in 2008, the voices of the people of Baram have been heard by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and other cabinet ministers.
“Where I am, it is easy to explain to them what the Baram people need. Before when I was just an ordinary Member of Parliament, we waited for the ministers to throw fruits to us, but now at least I am at the branches of the fruit trees. Then it is much easier for us to get and have better funds for the projects in our constituency,” he explained.
During the function, Sagan announced minor rural project (MRP) grants of RM30,000 to purchase zinc roofing for the longhouse and RM4,000 for the Long Tap women’s bureau.
He also promised to look into a pipeline for the longhouse from the water catchment area.
Meanwhile Long Tap village security and development committee (JKKK) chairman Clement Wan promised the longhouse would give 100 per cent of its votes to the Barisan Nasional candidate during the parliamentary election.
“Even though there are some opposition coming to our longhouse, we are always thinking of the good Barisan Nasional government,” he said.
