As from Feb 22nd Radio Free Sarawak expand its broadcasting to 2 hours daily, doubling its previous programing. The staff has also been increased to 5, from the previous 2. It is expected that more audiences will follow the radio from the SW radio sets or from internet, especially the expansion of programing coincide with the radio’s operator and Dj exposing their identity to the public for the first time in a British paper. The expansion also reflect the imminence of the Sarawak state elections-which many people expect it to be in April. The last state election took place in May 2006. The repeat transmission from 8pm-9pm has now been scrapped.
Preparations for the elections is visible everywhere eg the Election Commission has started its training of officers this week.
