Muhyiddin abuse ministerial programs to deliver campaign speech.

Muhyiddin is reportedly doing it again: he used his Education Minister’s position to gather educationists for a campaign speech in Rimbunan Hijau hotel today. This action amount to abuse of government programs and resources to help BN’s campaign.

How? Some returning Sarawakians are given a slip of paper telling them to vote BN at the Immigration check point at the Kuching international airport! When asked why the supposedly non-political government department should involve in BN’s campaigning the officer involved was a bit embarrassed to say that they have no choice-it is an order from their boss! So the Immigration Department of Sarawak has joined BN’s campaign-so which other department will join next????

Legal Challenge on Taib Mahmud’s Abuse of Power on Immigration Control

We, the undersigned civil society groups, condemn in the strongest sense the denial of electoral reform activist cum political scientist Dr Wong Chin Huat’s entry into Sarawak last Friday.

tidbits from Kapit

It seems the BN is playing dirty games everywhere. That is, apart from the usual offering of goodies or instant noodles projects, grants, MRP etc.

When Dato Chua Jui Ming, Dato Dr. Tan, YB M. Ravi and entourage were having dinner at one of the local restaurant, PRS supporters were making jeering comments, and quite sentitive issues. Who were talking a gentlement fight or campaign.
I believe these people are already trained and instructed to employ such tactics. As one of them admitted, they went for courses and got a certificate for it(honestly, I don’t know what courses). This shows that the BN is hell bent on winning the election.
Ironically, they wanted to drive out Orang Semenanjung, meaning the opposition. So who were Najib, Muhyiddin, and the big biker group led by KJ. Where were they from? So please refrain from such taunting remarks. Some PRK members might not be able to restrain themseleves, should they be provoked. There is always a threshold of calm and tempest. During the incident, a few police personel came and escorted one of the group(PRS) away, and the group went elsewhere. Is this Iban culture? Semenanjung culture? I say no. Its a desperate BN style of intimidation and campaign of fear.
BN politics of distributing goodies do not work all the time. On the 5th April, Dato Seri James Jemut Masing handed over (MRP/grants) cheques ranging from RM6’000 – 8’000 to more than 60 Tuai Rumah in Baleh area at Meligai Hotel, Kapit. This morning I was told one Tr. had returned the cheque. Many Tr. were saying ‘enti di buai, buai ga, enda ngenyadi ke gaji Tr nya” . So what – sack me, I don’t need that meagre Tr. salary. This is happening in Baleh and Pelagus area. So much for BN “politik pembangunan.”
